The NewTanksNJ Program Lets You Be Proactive about Your Tank!

If you have a non-leaking underground storage tank, up to $3,000 could be yours, thanks to the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) Petroleum Underground Storage Tank Remediation, Upgrade and Closure Program, also known as NewTanksNJ.

This program, which became effective August 2006, provides loans and grants to eligible applicants to help finance project costs for the closure and replacement of a non-leaking residential underground storage tank (UST). You may qualify for a grant of up to $3,000 to remove and replace a non-leaking UST with either another underground tank or an aboveground tank ... or $1,200 to close/remove a non-leaking UST.
